23.5 dumplings worth

We went over to Bulimba. I heard about a yum cha place that was a little dumpling house and unlikely to use msg, so keen for the experience never having been game before and knowing of dereks fondness for pork buns and all things dumpling, off we went.
I missed a turn off so we would have been there sooner, had I been actually concentrating on the map.
The pork buns were delicious. Soft and cloud like on the outside, porky and sweet on the innards. Having nothing to compare them too other than my own attempt at pork buns I thought they had done rather well. All followed by a complimentary Jasmine tea chaser. You know how jasmine tea comes in those tiny little cups? It was unclear to me if you were meant to take a pot of tea to your table or every 6 minutes jump up and refill your thimble from the communal teapot. Hmmm may need a clarifying signage. "complimentary jasmine tea, feel free to take the pot to your table, we have plenty more in back" much clearer

Next we moseyed on down the street looking at little shops and checking the ambience.
I got a 1970s pattern from a second hand shop that looked like an episode of horders waiting to be filmed. Im sure that the chaos this lady has wrought in her shop is an extension of both her mind and her home as well. It was piles upon piles of junk, a belt here a book stack there, a milk jug next to a bunch of old national geographics.
After all that we needed a sit down at the park bench hole in the wall. A lovely tea and carrot cake for me to finish off the feast.

So here to sitting at cafes filling your belly and reading books. And being home in time for pick up.
