Parade

I have mentioned before about Sebs dislike for assembly/ parade at school, you all recall the non participation in the hello song of 2012. Well on Monday it was his class' turn again. They sang knick knack paddy whack with the other year two class singing Michael finnegan - apparently they are partner songs, it just sounded to me like they were singing over the top of one another.

I had a talk with sebastian beforehand-again- and told him that sometimes you just have to suck it up and do things you don't love doing - it builds character!
Well he sang a little bit, at least he was moving his lips. Hardly the consummate performer, tho I think when his class performs their dance they are learning at ausdance. He may put on his boogey shoes.

Sick

Poor Tristan, he has done so well, he has made it to eight months without getting sick, now poor little guy looks like he has an ear infection, hopefully we don't need to resort to antibiotics, the Dr said give it a few days and I think he is improving.

He got lots of cuddles from Nonna

Look at that fabulous hair!

All the rain is giving it some body!

Perfect weather

Means playing in the backyard.
Tristan can be occupied for ages on the swing, crawling on the grass, chasing balls, waving sticks, it's all good in the backyard.

This week

Has seen standing for a few seconds not holding on to anything, cruising around furniture, making a beeline to the bathroom anytime the door is open, poking his tongue out, a first cold, eating hot chips and icecream and sleeping for 6 hours for the first time ever!

Wow what a week.

Under the sea

Today Elliot had an incursion. Not sneaking into enemy territory, but an excursion that comes to his preschool. It seems like a misnomer to me. The sealife people came today. They brought this shark. It was 11 months old.

This is blackie

He lives at preschool. I don't think he is a particularly happy fish, he looks like he is half dead everytime I see him. Today particularly I don't think he was happy about having a predator, a shark in his centre. It was like finding nemo.

He got to touch a freshwater turtle called rainbow. He was pretty keen on the turtle too.
There were sea stars, sea cucumbers and sea urchins. Elliot wasn't going to be in touching the sea cucumbers and strangely enough I insisted that he touch them

I don't know why, how disgusting is that! It was slimy and squishy and I had to touch it to show him it was ok- it really wasn't, it was yuk. But I put on a brave face, "mmm oh it's really soft, oh how colourful, oh you should feel it...." He did. I duped him into it, maybe that was a good thing? Maybe he won't have a pathological fear of things under the sea like his mother?

Thith ith how we thpeak now.

Another one gone. 3/4 teeth have been lost on a Sunday night. I tried to pay the dentist to remove this one - dangling by a thread for weeks leering at me, and making me want to do a little heave every time I saw it! The dentist offered but Seb wouldn't be in it. I don't know why ever not?

So the next try was a friend of his kneed him in the face on the trampoline -oh the blood but still that tooth stuck fast! I asked his friend why he didn't do a proper job? My fake sarcasm was lost on a 7 year old boy.
This tooth came out of its own accord, on Mother's Day-a great present. While we were driving around looking for carnaby who had got out, (she is back safe and sound... Just.
So I am spending lots of time teasing thebathian about hith lithp.
It's only fair when your mum is a thpeech therapitht.

Explanation

I just realised that the title and post don't make any sense. The coloured wall is the hardware house wall so the colour is hardware house. Sorry.

Hardware house

In our local shops there is a car park that has the best coloured walls. We were all feeling a bit unwell this week so we drove down to get some " make us feel better hot chips" and a chess set from the op shop. So I grabbed a moment when the sun was shining, this was the best I could get.

But how great is that colour? There is a yellow one and a cream one so stay tuned I might get some better ones

Silver linings.

I went down to my Pa's funeral. While it was sad there were some lovely silver linings

Spending a few days with these lovely two. I spent time with my family, at points it was just the four girls with mum and dad... Can't remember when that last happened. Maybe my wedding day? Or jens wedding day? It was wonderful having time with my 3 lovely sisters. My mum and dad did a great job at the funeral, I was very proud. And I got to see a lot of extended family that I maybe haven't seen since I was 16? Tristan was very well behaved and I was grateful for parents in law who looked after him during the funeral as well as being there for it.
Sad times silver linings
