Today Elliot had an incursion. Not sneaking into enemy territory, but an excursion that comes to his preschool. It seems like a misnomer to me. The sealife people came today. They brought this shark. It was 11 months old.

This is blackie

He lives at preschool. I don't think he is a particularly happy fish, he looks like he is half dead everytime I see him. Today particularly I don't think he was happy about having a predator, a shark in his centre. It was like finding nemo.

He got to touch a freshwater turtle called rainbow. He was pretty keen on the turtle too.
There were sea stars, sea cucumbers and sea urchins. Elliot wasn't going to be in touching the sea cucumbers and strangely enough I insisted that he touch them

I don't know why, how disgusting is that! It was slimy and squishy and I had to touch it to show him it was ok- it really wasn't, it was yuk. But I put on a brave face, "mmm oh it's really soft, oh how colourful, oh you should feel it...." He did. I duped him into it, maybe that was a good thing? Maybe he won't have a pathological fear of things under the sea like his mother?
