Last Train to Mitchelton

Today we caught the last steam train from Mitchelton to Ferny Grove. It was a fully restored 1910 steam train with full carriages. It was great. Now Im not the budding train spotter - we did see some of those. But this was a great piece of history - except for the full restored energy saving lightglobes in the lights. Check out the details, the fan, the high gloss paint, the signage, great fun, and sadly the last time it will happen - the guide/conductor said that they were pulling up the cross frames which I assumed meant the train couldnt turn around or fit on the tracks. it was great to be a little part of history to a time where a train trip meant a real journey, where things were slower and people were more mindful of the little things.

some things never change

as a child I had an ikea desk that was white and had a hutch and all over the inside of my bit of it I cut out and collected and stuck and had what I thought was a cool collection of little bits and pieces and patterns - stuff like that. Then when I was at highschool my school folder looked a bit like that too - I see a pattern emerging. little collections of things, lots of patterns and colours . I cant help myself! As I said some things never change!
the eat is new - Im growing my collection of tiles and bits and pieces to cover some patched holes in the wall that we inherited, I got some letters from spotlight and covered them with some paper I got at the local( when I say local - there are actually about 4 to choose from) scrapbooking shop, and hey presto some fun letters. Sebastian knows the E is for Elliot and and the cross one is in his name too.

probably. weeds

we walk along the bike track a couple of times a week and at the moment these flowers are all over the place. Sebastian loves them cause they are yellow, his favourite. So we take some scissors and chop some off and they are cheery and sunny even if they are weeds
