the deal

we have made a deal. Sebastian will unpack the dishwasher for 5 days ( only the plastic stuff) and will receive $1 to add to his $20 that he got for his birthday to buy... superman, batman and the flash from the toyshop all in one go, at the same time. He is $1 short. he thinks its a good deal, we shall see if he still thinks that when it comes time to do the work. maybe this is an introduction to pocket money or on the flip side not always getting what you want?

Elliots adventures

SO no 2 has now discovered the sudocreme... see here what is it with that stuff? It was a bit close to the edge of bookcase in his room and he had a lovely time with it when he woke up, hands covered, in his mouth over his dummies the cot sheet, the cot and quilt.

Here is No 2 having a tantrum about only being allowed to have one vitamin a day. HE LOVES THEM and falls on the floor when I say no

He has also taken to decorating himself. Good ol crayola.

brotherly love

mr independence

I heard the purple ikea chair being pushed around on the floor the other morning and didnt think much of it. I rounded the corner to find that Elliot had carried the chair into the bathroom and was helping himself to things on the bathroom sink. I stood watching quietly for a minute whereby he wiped his face with some of my makeup remover cotton square, and got his toothbrush before hopping down and toddling off.

Look at those sugar filled eyes

there is a distinct lack of dilation of those pupils. I can only put it down to the vast quantities of lollies consumed and I have only myself to blame as the supplier. I got to be the one who saw the come down from the sugar high. not pretty.

Lots of Jelly

Like I said before he ate lots of Jelly at the party and mostly that was cause he fed it to himself!

The cake

the party

Here is the pinata cake - or the smash cake as it was called courtesy of Amelie.
NB never believe the instructions in the womens weekly birthday cakes cookbook, rely on your own instincts.

The Lolly man strikes again - he wasnt running very fast this year with an awful virus in tow that kept him bed ridden for 5 days
and of course pass the parcel. Elliot trying to join in again.

the party

Ok so sebastian chose to wear exactly the same thing as last year the only distinguishing feature is the no 4 badge - so everyone knows Im 4. It poured on the day a very disappointing outcome, considering all week til friday it had been saying mostly fine. But we persisted and a good time was had by almost all ( derek was sick as a dog)
Some photo highlights
the Pinata being smashed. I was looking at the photo of the kids scrounging for lollies on the floor and who should be in the thick of it but Elliot! Little guy ate so many lollies and cakes and icing and jelly!

the actual birthday

the day was spent half at preschool. He was sent home with 39 deg temps. but perked up with a dose of panadol. So we continued with our "family dinner"Please note the much prized superman jamies, and the ben 10 socks. Ben 10 undies will not be shown in light of public decency. roast chicken and chocolate cake were the birthday dinner requests

let the celebrations begin

in a momentary lapse of concentration earlier in the year I said to Sebastian "how bout for you birthday at preschool we make planet cakes cause you have the planet locker at preschool"
"Yeah Mum that would be sooo cool!"
3 months later - so how about those planet cakes Mum?
so I got home from work late monday afternoon and had 24 cakes baked and iced with fondant planets on the top by 7.30pm. phew! Needless to say Derek cooked dinner that night

just a little light bedtime reading

tv dinners

this was an experiement a few weeks ago when the boys were eating dinner on their own. It was the quietest dinner we have ever had and food was consumed without arguement - mind you it was chicken nuggets and chips. Note the precautionary measures of the rug being rolled back!

the best cake ever

a pear and almond with a hint of cardamon upside down cake

drawings from preschool

I love preschool and the way it encourages play and imagination. Sebastian and his friend Riley made a workshop a few weeks ago and drew all the tools on a big bit of paper. I was so impressed with Sebastians Bosch drill i took some pics. he wrote the Bosch himself copying everything off the drills they had. as well as spanners. and the red one is a picture of spiderman - nice webs
