Village Church

Our church is planting a new one, next week infact, here, its exciting, we went and checked out the local produce market on saturday morning and got some free range eggs, Derek will be proud, he does not like my attitude to battery hens and their debt to society. Maybe this will become a habit, a nice habit to have - a saturday morning stroll through the market a coffee, a pastry, some woodfired bread, some locals, becoming a local and sharing jesus?
Derek went to a pub there today and chatted to the owner. It all starts up on sunday, a village ripe for the picking, God willing

a little pot

I was pulling dead palm fronds out of the garden and saw this little pot sticking out on one of the palm leaves - I wonder how it got there?

Elliot in june

A lovely visit from Aunty Steph, lots of cuddles on the front step. and kisses from Carnaby - they are good friends now

mates

this is Sebastians very good friend indeed, most waking moments are spent talking about him and whenever we can see him its a happy day! And whats more they both love yellow - its all good!

more smiles

tool

this is my best friend. The tungsten tip scraper. It has made short work of the 80 odd years of paint on my cupboard

cupboard

although this might look like a sudocreme incident, it is not. Sebastian helped me do some of the painting on my cupboard when I say on the cupboard I mean on the back. he had a great time and is very proud of his effort. the doors are yet to get finished and put back on

gutters

derek got up and cleaned the gutters out - this is going to go a long way to stopping the water coming into downstairs. it was refreshing to know that the roof on our house is put together well.

probably. weeds

we walk along the bike track a couple of times a week and at the moment these flowers are all over the place. Sebastian loves them cause they are yellow, his favourite. So we take some scissors and chop some off and they are cheery and sunny even if they are weeds

possOff

so for those of you who have been to visit us in this fair sunshine state you will have heard the possums that were in the roof, not on the roof but in the ceiling space due to the large holes in the eves. We got our mate greg, (who's work I can highly recommend if you need a carpenter) to finish the eves and plug up all the holes. This done I contacted the possum man to come and set traps to remove them, He told us to shut it all off so we knew they were there to be trapped. But we left one spot open til he could come so the possums didnt die in the roof. But then on a Wednesday night after biblestudy we saw them leaving and Derek jumped up with his trusty hammer and banged the last bit of fascia in. Possums OUT. The next day they came back and tried their darndest to get back in. Ha but they couldnt. No longer will they seek accommodation at the Hotel Hanna. Be Gone possums, all of 25m from the house! That is how far they can be relocated if trapped! Id love to start a vege garden in the backyard butI fear Im only going to be growing veges for the possums.
