New and Old

My Grandparents have recently gone into a nursing home that I got to visit this week. Its a lovely place, with lovely patient staff who are caring for them both very well, they get to see each other most days.
As my mum clears out their house a few things have come my way. It was with a sense of excitement and sadness that I greeted these New old things. Excited - cause I love these things and they remind me of my grandparents and all the happy time we had at their place, but sad because of what it represents - the end of an era, the passing of time, the finality of death and the frailty of life.
The pieces are fitting in well and are being well used ( am sitting on the couch now) Thanks Grandma and Pa

Mr Somersaults arrival

Here is Elliot only minutes old, Looking very little and bewildered. He was induced at 39 weeks for and unstable lie ie. he was doing somersaults inside not staying put certainly not engaged.

After some encouragement from osteo and acupuncture at 37 weeks he had turned and then at the last minute 39 weeks, he flipped again - too much space inside obviously - Sebastian had put an annex on while he was in there! So an external version was done on the thursday I was admitted overnight to see if he stayed put, then an induction via a drip was done on friday morning. Elliot arrived weighing a mere 2.9kg at 9.02pm. I gave myself a big pat on the back for getting him out and derek turned around to go home and prepare for the movers to arrive! what a weekend!
I kept out of the way and went home a few days later to the new house which had all been unpacked and things put back together by our lovely Mum, and very supportive church family.
