Disappointing

This happened this morning at 6.40 this morning. I was still asleep in my bed, trying to pretend the day had not started, trying to ignore the heavy machinery sounds coming from across the road. I heard loud voices, the our gate open and shut, and I knew carnaby was still inside so for once it wasn't her causing trouble.
Knock knock knock. Sebastian answers the door in his super dog pjs, I run to the door, groggy from sleep and unsteady on my feet with my extra weigh distribution and everything being a bit more relaxed. To meet the lady trucker from the earth moving company who had just side swiped our car.


She was terribly apologetic and took full responsibility. I got quotes this morning, 900 bucks to fix! Ouch, but not me paying.


It's going to be an annoyance.
I was thinking though, the lady's attitude and her genuine apology certainly made a huge difference about my feelings about the whole thing. I can imagine that had she not come and apologized and been humble about her mistake I would have been really cross. A little humility and forgiveness goes a long way.
I hope she doesn't get in too much trouble.
