60 days and counting

I'm tired and impatient. But not for the reasons you may think.
Yes, I've only 60 days to go til this baby arrives, so I'm not sleeping the best, and I really want him in my arms so yes impatient.
It the heart of the matter is I was awake nearly all last night waiting for the after hours Dr to come.
In a ridiculous but slightly anxiety producing way, I had a tick on my back for 2 days, I've never seen a tick before, neither had Derek, but last night the picker in me got the better of me and I pulled it out, but not knowing it was a tick I'm not sure I did it right,
So I called the helpline, I called the midwife- is there a problem with having a tick at 31 weeks pregnant -best get it checked she said.
So I called the after hours gp, they said it would be 4+ hours so I booked that then decided to try my luck at the ER, only to come home again 45min later the ER was a cesspool of germs and flu and drug addicts vomiting, I felt I was taking my life in my own hands breathing the air in there.

So back home to wait. Wait wait. At 7.45 the gp calls and says extremely busy night and that gp went home sick, so try for gp no 2 this morning. All the while I am freaking out at a ticks head is lodged in my back.

I don't even know where I got it from, it's hardly like even at he best of times, ie not tired emotional and 7 months pregnant, I go bush walking!

So stayed tuned for the next exciting episode of when bizarre things happen to Jacqueline.
If you are a prayer, please pray for no complications as a result of this!

  1. Sounds like a very rough night! I hope that you got some reassurance today. Eve had a tic just last week and we happened to be across the road from a medical centre, so we took her in there and the doc removed it and prescribed an antibiotic "just in case". I always succumb to Dr Google at these moments, but the answer is always the same- half of the things convince you of the worst, and half the things say "don't worry about it" so I am never better off. Hope you got to see a real doc today. Praying for you. X
